WHO ARE CPY MENTORS?
They are a priceless group of people who are business people, college students,
realtors, lawyers, waiters, bakers, carpenters, police officers and retired
teachers....
yes, they are just like you!
MENTORING IS FUN!
Give youth hope for their future by sharing your passions and introducing
them to new experiences for free such as:
- The Hult Center’s performing arts
- Emerald baseball games
- University of Oregon sporting events
- Whitewater rafting and sailing
- Rock climbing and challenge courses
- Ceramics and dance classes
- The Springfield and Eugene public libraries
- The Science Factory and more!
DO I HAVE THE TIME TO
BE A MENTOR?
The fundamental responsibility of a mentor is a commitment to volunteer consistently
10-15 hours per month with the same youth for a full year (i.e. usually meeting
them one time a week). Our goal is that you and your youth will remain friends
long beyond the scope of our program.
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Schedule An Information Session - The first step is to call
our office at (541) 344-0833 x103 or e-mail
aborland@committedpartners.org to
schedule an information session. These meetings usually last about 20 minutes
and include an overview of our programs, the youth we serve, mentor responsibilities,
the application process, as well as answers to your questions and concerns.
If you are interested in being a mentor, we’ll give you an application
packet and schedule you for a mentor training.
